Attendant

Reports to:

  • Student Manager(s)
  • Fitness Specialist

Function:

  • Responsible for assisting in day-to-day operations, participant check in, and maintenance of equipment and BodyWise studios.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for enforcing BodyWise registration and attendance policies.
  2. Provides customer service to BodyWise participants upon arrival to studios.
  3. Responsible or opening, closing, and proper operation of BodyWise studios and sound systems.
  4. Performs routine maintenance of studios and equipment as scheduled.
  5. Responsible for reporting maintenance and equipment issues in all studio areas.
  6. All BodyWise employees are obligated to work at least 1 supervising shift per semester.
  7. Responsible for enforcing departmental and university policies and procedures in all matters pertaining to BodyWise.
  8. Support an environment that encourages, values, and delivers outstanding customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be an existing BodyWise Instructor
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Hold and maintain Adult CPR/AED certification

Instructor-in-Training

Reports to:

  • Student Manager(s)
  • Fitness Specialist

Function:

  • Responsible for conducting safe, effective, and enjoyable group exercise classes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Teach safe and effective group fitness classes under the supervision of a Veteran instructor.
  2. Work under the supervision of a veteran instructor to develop a workout routine that is creative and challenging for all level. Provide modifications and progressions when needed.
  3. Ensure a safe workout environment for all participants.
  4. Responsible for earning an accredited group fitness certification as approved by BodyWise
  5. Working knowledge of fitness equipment, studio setup, and audio equipment.
  6. Report equipment or general studio issues to Supervisor and BodyWise management.
  7. Commitment to attend mandatory weekly Instructor Training Program meetings and trainings.
  8. Responsible for enforcing departmental and university policies and procedures in all matters pertaining to BodyWise.
  9. Support an environment that encourages, values, and delivers outstanding customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent instructor qualities (leadership, voice projection, willingness to learn, etc.)
  • General fitness knowledge

Instructor

Reports to:

  • Student Manager(s)
  • Fitness Specialist

Function:

  • Responsible for conducting safe, effective, and enjoyable BodyWise group exercise classes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Teach safe and effective group fitness classes in a welcoming environment.
  2. Develop a workout routine that is creative and challenging for all levels. Provide modifications and progressions when needed.
  3. Ensure a safe workout environment for all participants.
  4. Working knowledge of fitness equipment, studio setup, and audio equipment.
  5. Report any equipment or studio issues to Supervisor and BodyWise management.
  6. Commitment to attend mandatory instructor meetings and Continuing Education trainings.
  7. Responsible for enforcing departmental and university policies and procedures in all matters pertaining to BodyWise.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Hold and maintain at least one current nationally-accredited fitness certification as approved by BodyWise
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Hold and maintain Adult CPR/AED certification

Pack Coach

Reports to:

  • Fitness Specialist

Function:

  • Responsible for conducting safe and effective Pack Small Group Training sessions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Teach safe and effective small group training sessions in a welcoming environment.
  2. Follow proper workout, exercises, reps, and sets as outlined in Pack Training Manual.
  3. Ensure a safe workout environment for all participants.
  4. Contribute to development of Pack Training Manual by providing input and workout submissions to Fitness Specialist.
  5. Working knowledge of fitness equipment, studio setup, and audio equipment.
  6. Report any equipment or general studio issues to Fitness Specialist.
  7. Commitment to attend mandatory Pack Coach workshops and training sessions.
  8. Responsible for enforcing departmental and university policies and procedures in all matters pertaining to BodyWise.
  9. Support an environment that encourages, values, and delivers outstanding customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Exceptional instructor abilities
  • Holds and maintains AFAA Group Fitness Certification
  • Extensive fitness knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Holds and maintains Adult CPR/AED certification

Student Manager

Reports to:

  • Fitness Specialist

Function:

  • Responsible for assisting in the daily operations of BodyWise including training and coaching staff members, instructor evaluations, studio needs, and tasks designated by the Fitness Specialist.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides guidance and mentorship to elevate BodyWise employees of all levels.
  2. Assist Fitness Specialist in lecturing and instruction of Weekly Meetings as part of the Instructor Training Program.
  3. Evaluates and provides feedback to BodyWise Instructors on instructor abilities i.e., form, cueing, content, class design, music choice, etc.
  4. Assists in creation of semesterly Pack Small Group Training Manual and weekly Pack Pages for review by Fitness Specialist.
  5. Provides feedback to BodyWise staff at-large regarding areas for improvement at monthly staff meetings.
  6. Assists in communication with BodyWise staff members regarding meetings, trainings, important dates, reminders, etc.
  7. Assist Fitness Specialist in selecting new Instructors-in-Training at Fitness, SPINNING®, and ZUMBA® auditions.
  8. Responsible for general upkeep and regular cleaning of BodyWise studios and Pack Training equipment.
  9. Responsible for coordinating shift coverage when necessary.
  10. Assists with additional program related events as designated by Fitness Specialist.
  11. Responsible for enforcing departmental and university policies and procedures in all matters pertaining to BodyWise.
  12. Support an environment that encourages, values, and delivers outstanding customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent managerial skills
  • Hold and maintain at least one nationally-accredited fitness certification
  • Extensive fitness knowledge
  • Knowledgeable in all class formats in the BodyWise program
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
