All undergraduate and graduate students registered at the University of Connecticut at the Storrs Campus are eligible to participate in any intramural sports or tournaments. The participation of all individuals, however, will be in accordance with the following:
Faculty, Staff, and Students at a Branch Campus
The following must be paid members of the Student Recreation Facility in order to participate in any intramural sports or tournaments:
- Associate Members (Faculty/staff of University, University affiliates, Alumni)
- Non-degree students
- Community members
Current Varsity Team Members
Any member of a varsity team who suits up for a game/match or is listed at any time on the team’s roster during the 2016-2017 school year is ineligible for the remainder of the school year (2016-2017), including the 2017 summer semesters in that sport or related sport. This rule also applies to athletes who have transferred to UConn from another university or college during the 2016-2017 school year.
Non-scholarship practice players and players who only participated in tryouts are not considered current varsity players.
Only one ex-varsity letter winner is eligible to be on an intramural team’s roster for each sport, or related sport, in which the student lettered. This rule includes the holder of a varsity letter at a university or senior college other than UConn.
This rule will not apply to ex-varsity athletes who graduated before September 1, 2013.
Anyone who has competed in a regular season game or contest on a professional level or received compensation from a professional organization shall be ineligible for intramural competition in that sport or its related sport.
The UConn Intramural Sports program offers three divisions of competition: Men’s, Women’s and Co-Recreational.
All UConn male undergraduate and graduate students, as well as male faculty, staff, and community members are eligible to participate in this division.
All UConn female undergraduate and graduate students, as well as female faculty, staff and communty members are eligible to participate in this division.
All UConn male and female undergraduate and graduate students, as well as male and female faculty, staff and community members are eligible to participate in this division.
An individual may not, under any circumstances, play or register for more than one intramural team in the same division (Men, Women, or Co-Rec) regardless of level of play for a specific sport.
