1-Visit Guest Pass

Non-members can purchase a 1-Visit Guest Pass for single entry to the Student Recreation Center.

Cost: $15.00 plus tax

  • Guests must be 18 years or older and present a valid photo ID.
  • May only be purchased and redeemed by the guest account holder and are non-transferable.
  • 1-Visit Guest Pass can be used for a single entry into the Student Recreation Center during our operating hours.
  • Programs and services NOT included with 1-Visit Guest Pass:
    Group Exercise Classes, Climbing Center, Towel Service, Equipment Checkout
  • 1-Visit Guest Passes are non-refundable.

  1. Click the "PURCHASE GUEST PASS" button on this web page.
  2. You will be directed to the MyRec app for the sign up process.
  3. On the Sign In screen, select "Sign Up" at the bottom of the prompt.
  4. Enter your name, date of birth, email address and create a strong password.
  5. Click "Create Account."
  6. Select "1-Day Guest Pass."
  7. Under Select Duration, pick "1-Day."
  8. Under Effective Date, pick the current day.
  9. Click Add to Cart.
  10. Complete and sign the Facility Access Waiver.
  11. Complete and sign the Payment Agreement.
  12. In your cart, select "Checkout"
  13. Pay with credit/debit card. First time visitors click "Add New Card." Return visitors can use a card on file or add a new card for payment.
  14. Click "Checkout"
  15. You will receive your receipt by email.
  16. If you haven't done so, download the UConn Rec app to your phone. Sign into the UConn Rec app to see your Guest Pass.
  17. Proceed to the Student Recreation Facility with the UConn Rec app and your valid photo ID for entry.

Can a UConn student purchase a 1-Visit Guest Pass?

1-Visit Guest Passes are not available to UConn students holding a current Rec membership.

Can I purchase a guest pass in advance?

Guest passes remain valid until redeemed and may be used on any day the Student Recreation Center is operational.

Can I buy a 1-Visit Guest Pass in-person?

A 1-Visit Guest Pass must be purchased online; however, a QR code is available at the Student Recreation Center Customer Service Desk for those who wish to purchase a pass upon arrival.

Can I purchase a 1-Visit Guest Pass for someone else?

No. Guests are responsible for their own account creation, purchase, and redemption.

How old do I need to be to purchase a 1-Visit Guest Pass?

Guests must be 18 years or older to purchase a 1-Visit Guest Pass.

What type of photo ID is required?

Must provide a physical government-issued photo ID

  • State Driver’s License
  • Passport
  • Military ID

How do I redeem my 1-Visit Guest Pass?

There are several ways to redeem your 1-Visit Guest Pass:

  1. Use the barcode from your email receipt. After purchasing your pass, you will receive a confirmation email that includes a PDF attachment with a barcode. Present this barcode at the Student Recreation Center for scanning and entry.
  2. Display the barcode immediately after purchase. Once your transaction is complete, click "View" on the checkout confirmation screen to display your barcode for redemption.
  3. Access your pass through your account. Log in to myrec.uconn.edu, navigate to your account, and view your purchased guest passes. You can display the barcode directly from your account for scanning.
  4. Bring a printed copy. If you do not have a mobile device, you may print the PDF attached to your confirmation email and bring it with you for scanning at entry.

Note: A 1-Visit Guest Pass is valid for a single entry and may be redeemed on any future day that the Student Recreation Center is open.

Are additional services included?

Locker rooms are available for use. However, programs, equipment check, and towel services are not available.
