About Road Dogs
It's "Fall" training season for UConn Recreation's Road Dogs as we prepare for the HUSKY RUN & RUCK.
Road Dogs is a community of runners that will get you ready to meet your race day goals. Whether you are new to running and looking to tackle your first long distance race or you are a seasoned runner, our group will offer something to benefit all levels and abilities. Fun, camaraderie, and motivation will always be our focus.

Once registered you will be shared a link to Eventbrite that has all our upcoming group runs & social events scheduled for you to RSVP to. In addition, we'll invite you to join our group on Strava, so you can connect and celebrate all your training runs/workouts with your team of fellow Road Dogs and see upcoming running routes.
In typical Road Dogs style we will have goodies and incentives for everyone participating and completing their miles over the course of training.
Here’s what you get:
- Admission to the Husky Run & Ruck on November 9, 2025, including a free meal and other giveaways.
- Starting September 20th, four long-run Saturdays will be hosted on campus at the UConn Student Recreation Center. Every Saturday meeting will include snacks, drinks, monitored area for personal belongings, and great campus running routes.
- NEW: We will have three Sunday runs (1,3, or 5-mile loops around campus) led by our Student Run leaders to continue help building your mileage before Race Day!
- Official HMF Husky Run & Ruck Event T-Shirt
- Official Road Dogs Dri-Fit training shirt
- Post-race celebration with fellow Road Dogs!
